ANSWERING GODS CALL: EMBRACING RELIGIOUS LIFE IN THE DIGITAL AGE
By Sr. Christine Masivo CPS
Sisters from the International Novitiate in Mariannhill Province South Africa |
During the
Eucharistic celebration, the novices willingly embraced the vows of chastity,
poverty, and obedience, symbolizing their dedication to a life of service.
Amidst challenges, they were encouraged to say 'Yes' to God's will, trusting in
His guidance even in uncertainty.
Inspired by
the founder of the congregation Abbot Francis Pfanner's words, the novices now
sisters were reminded to embrace their calling with unwavering commitment and
courage, reiterating his word ‘If nobody goes, I will go.’ Missioned to lands
unknown, they expressed both anxiety and eagerness to serve, echoing the
sentiment of trusting in God's purpose and providential graces that will lead
them on wherever He want them to be.

Encouraged to
encounter Christ in all they do, the newly professed sisters were reminded of
their role as healers in a wounded society, tasked with spreading love, joy,
kindness, and patience. This was a call that they ought to embrace as it is the
greatest thirst in the world of today.
Pope
Francis's call to leave the past with gratitude, the present with passion, and
the future with hope resonated throughout their journey. Despite challenges,
they were urged to support one another as a community and believers in Christ
and as vowed women set apart to follow Christ in every way.
As they
embark on their missions, the newly professed sisters extend an invitation to
young people to join in serving the Lord, emphasizing that with God, all things
are possible. They expressed their gratitude to God, their parents, and the
congregation for their support they received in answering the call to religious
life.
Thanks be to God for the gift of vocation. May the Lord bless the sisters abundantly

ReplyDeleteGod has a tendency of surprising humanity! He always seeks us even when we feel like we can't make it! The vocation is blossoming even when the world is doubtful of the possibility of living religious life! May the good Lord continue to make what He begun in them blossom!
ReplyDeleteWe pray that the Lord of harvest may send many labourers in his vineyard.
ReplyDeleteMay He touch the hearts of young men and women to recognise his voice from the worldly noise.
