In a heart-warming display of compassion and solidarity, members of the Kenyatta University Economic Students Association (KUESCA), paid a visit to the Star of Hope Children's Home, located in Juja Kenyatta Road in Thika. The children's home, run by the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood, received a day filled with love and care from the thoughtful students, who sacrificed their campus day to spend with the less fortunate in the society.

On 16/02/2024 the students embarked on a mission of corporate social responsibility (CSR), determined to make a positive impact on the lives of the children residing at the home. Led by their commitment to community service, the students engaged in various activities aimed at bringing joy and comfort to the young residents, who depend mostly on the generosity and kindness of well wishes locally and internationally to make ends meet and to have a bright future.

Throughout the day, the students immersed themselves in activities intended to foster a sense of    love, companionship and belonging. They rolled up their sleeves and took on household chores, cooking meals for the children and assisting with laundry duties. However, their contribution extended far beyond the realm of domestic tasks; they also dedicated time to play and bond with the children, emphasizing the importance of human dignity, connection and solidarity.

As the sun set, the students and children gathered around the dinner table, sharing a meal as a loving unified family. This simple yet profound gesture served as a poignant reminder that love knows no boundaries and that kindness has the power to bridge gaps and unite hearts.

Moreover, the students demonstrated their commitment to supporting the home by making generous donations, both in kind and monetary. These contributions will undoubtedly aid the home as it prepares to commemorate a significant momentous years of service in its history – 25 years of unwavering commitment to providing a safe haven for   children. Founded in 1999 by the late Sr. Engelbart CPS, the Star of Hope Children's Home has been a beacon of hope and resilience in the community, thanks to the tireless efforts of its dedicated staff, the sisters and all the donors locally and internationally.

Sr. Florentine Botuli Cps, the Administrator of the home, expressed her profound gratitude to the students for their kindness and thoughtfulness. In a heartfelt message, she conveyed her appreciation for the students' willingness to embrace the children with open arms and show them that they are loved and cherished.
