A Testament of Hope in the Jubilee Year! - Religious life is still Vibrant. Newly Professed Sisters (CPS)

Newly professed Sisters in the Jubilee Year of Hope.

By Sr. Christine Masivo CPS

In this special Jubilee Year of Hope, the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood (CPS) joyfully welcomed newly professed sisters into their congregation. February marked a profound moment of grace as young women from different parts of the world committed their lives to Christ, embracing the charism of the CPS with hearts full of faith and trust.

A Profound Experience of Joy and Grace

For the six newly professed sisters from the North American Province International Novitiate, this step in their spiritual journey was filled with deep joy and gratitude. One of them expressed her sentiments beautifully:

"As a newly professed sisters, we experience true joy, especially grace from the Lord as we have taken this first step of our religious life."

Their words echo the transformative power of religious life—one that brings not only happiness but also a profound sense of divine presence and guidance.

A Journey of Perseverance and Trust

Meanwhile, from the Mariannhill International Novitiate in South Africa, the newly professed sisters spoke of their gratitude and amazement at God’s faithfulness throughout their journey:

"We thank God for calling us into religious life and for granting us perseverance up to today... Honestly speaking, we can't believe that we have come this far. We have mixed feelings because we are happy that we are CPS now, as well as being challenged by this name, which is also our mandate. We are positively looking forward to the future with confidence and total trust in God."

Their words reflect the depth of their commitment—both the joy of belonging to the congregation and the responsibility of carrying forward its mission. The name "Precious Blood" is not just a title; it is a call to witness Christ’s redemptive love through service and sacrifice.

Significance in the Jubilee Year of Hope

This year's Jubilee of Hope adds an even greater dimension to their profession. The Church calls all believers to embrace hope as a guiding force, especially in a world longing for healing and renewal. These newly professed sisters become beacons of hope, bearing witness to God’s love through their dedication to mission, service, and prayer.

Their journey reminds us all that God continues to call, and that responding with faith leads to unimaginable grace. Their "yes" to religious life is a sign that hope is alive in the Church, in the world, and in the hearts of those who courageously follow Christ, especially now when few people are opting to embrace religious life especially in the West and slowly creeping in the South. This brings hope that there are still those who wish to follow Christ in the Vocation of Priesthood and religious life and that there will be a revival once again and many will follow Christ in the Service of the Church and religious men and women.

May the newly professed CPS sisters be strengthened in their vocation, and may their mission bring hope, healing, and transformation wherever they have been sent!
